10ft chemical store
New (one trip from China) or second hand (approx. 15 years old) 10ft container is 8ft wide and 8ft 6in high chemical stores are available.

When we fit the bund, it is generally 6in high, but if you require a different height, then please let us know. The bunded floors are either a steel checkerplate tray or steel raised mesh floor.
20ft chemical store
New (one trip from China) or second hand (approx. 15 years old) 20ft container is 8ft wide and 8ft 6in high chemical stores are available.
New 20ft Chemical store
When we fit the bund, it is generally 12in high, but if you require a different height, then please let us know. Many farmers have a 6in high bund, as it is less of a trip hazard. The bunded floors are either a steel checkerplate tray or a steel raised mesh floor.
Construction
All our chemical stores are built from a steel called: Cor-Ten. Cor-Ten is a high tensile steel that can withstand many of the outside elements. The steel thickness is 1.6mm. They have corrugated panels on all sides and roof. The structure is made up of corrugated panels, corner posts, top and bottom rails, set of a double doors and corner castings.
Doors
The doors are either original shipping container doors (on all the 20ft units) and fabricated or original doors on the second hand and new 10ft containers. The double doors are ONLY on one end, that is the 8ft end on a 10ft long and 20ft long unit.

Floors
The Floors have been adapted; as these chemical stores were shipping containers originally, where the floors are made of 25mm marine treated plywood. We know wood is not acceptable for a chemical store, so we either overlay the wood with a steel checkerplate tray or replace the wood with a steel sub-floor and fit a steel raised mesh floor over the top. With the mesh floor one section is removal. Both floors are bunded to hold any spillage, then the chemicals do not leak out into the environment.

Ventilation
There are vents fitted to ensure the containers are well ventilated. Vents comprise of hole punches in the metal (usually at the near the top and bottom rails of the container) and then a bracket is fitted over the top so that air gets through but the containers remain watertight.
Air vents are fitted with brackets to ensure the unit is watertight (see top rail and bottom rail above photo)
Shelves
Steel shelving is fitted, unless the customer does not want shelving. The shelving is fitted with a lip all around, so to avoid anything rolling off. We fit 3 shelves even heights, but if there is specific height required then please let us know. The shelving does not have to be lipped, it depends on what our customers require.
